Call for digital apprenticeships

Toi Mai's workforce development plan calls for a major shift toward work-based learning models in digital technology education, including the development of digital apprenticeships to address urgent workforce shortages.

This reinforces the need for degree-level apprenticeships as a scalable and inclusive solution, particularly to support Māori and Pacific learners to earn while they train and access high-growth, high-wage sectors.
