7,700 signatures call for paid placements

A petition led by changemaker Bex Howells, now with nearly 8,000 signatures, calls for students in caring professions to be paid during compulsory placements to address financial hardship and workforce shortages.

This growing campaign highlights the potential of degree-level apprenticeships to offer a more equitable solution allowing students to earn while they learn and shifting some training responsibility onto employers.
